It's worth noting that
you get some difference in tone simply by using different
settings of 'volume' and 'master'. For example - on my amp, v=10
m=3 has less highs compared with v=4 m=10 (which gives roughly
the same sound level and little more noise). All the other
numbers are also available - there is no rule which says one of
the knobs must be on 10!

NOTE - For the first year I had this amp, I thought the lead
level knob changed the amount of distortion (like a gain
control). This is not so. It's a volume control for the
lead sound. There is some control over how much gain, depth,
distortion you get, but that's through adjusting the Volume knob
(= input gain). That will also affect your clean sound. It might
also help to change V2 for a lower-gain type such as 12AY7 or
12AU7 - that will affect the distortion level. (It'll also
affect how much reverb you get.)
